Hi everyone, uhhhm don’t know where to start  ) because this is my first time to write a blog Our first homework is to create a blog about our subject. And here I am writing a blog for you guys  )))),  hi again, my name is Hazel Mae G. Pimentel, an Indutrial designer. I may say that I am not good at Mathematics. For the past two years in college, we don’t have math subjects. So it’s new for us to take math on our 3^rd year. When we talked about math, what are you guys talking or thinking about?  Its  numbers and numbers and numbers, right?. We all know that numbers is always part of Math and I am always nervous about taking about it. In our early days we know that math is just a simple computation like additional, subtraction, multiplication and division. But time passes by the simple math that we all know are not simple anymore. It added some formulas that I can’t even fully understand. There are too much numbers plus alphabet in a problem.  It is hard, because a lot of people hate math  ), no doubt about it  . Now that I am now in my third year in college, I may say that it is now more difficult than our elementary or high school days.

On our first meeting in our subject Business Math, We have discussed the grading system of our subject. On our second meeting, we talked about Profit and Loss. I have understood that profit is a sales that are greater than the cost.   That margin is a gain or profit. Gross Sales is an actual amount received for selling the goods. Refund is an amount returned usually if goods are defective. And Net Sales are obtained when refund are being deducted from the gross.

We talked about the example problem that we may occur. We also have given some formulas for the given problems.

The net sales and profit may also be given in scheme diagram as follows:

Gross sales – Sales returns and allowance = net sales – cost of good sold = gross profit – operating / expences  =  net profit.

I first encounter business math, I may say that our first topic is easy. I fullyunderstand topics in our subject course, you just have to listen and fully understand on what your professor is saying. All things can get to hard work, I need to focus a lot to business math to understand more and it is a serious thing to study. I know that math is a hard subject for us guys. But math is very important in our daily living.  Math is important because it is the most widely used subject in the world. Every career uses some sort of math. More importantly, doing math helps the mind to reason and organized complicated situations or problems into clear, simple, and logical steps. Thus, as students learn more math, the rationale is that their minds will eventually develop into logical entity that can resolve any difficult situations. The reality is that in a society such as ours, high paying jobs often demand someone who can take complicated situations and simplify it to the level that everyone can understand. Therefore, by knowing more math, students give themselves the competitive edge they will need to compete for these high paying jobs.    First of all, you need to see math as an instrument, as the teaspoon is important, Imagine, if the math doesn’t exist, the computers science couldn’t exist, and you couldn’t launch the question and receive an answer from your PC or Notebook.
